Leather

Leather is a natural material that can absorb moisture and oil it comes into contact with. Over time, leather will develop what's called a a patina. This patina can cause the leather finish to becoming a richer, deeper color and the texture to change from semi-matte to semi-glossy. This is completely normal and does not affect the structural integrity of the leather.

For those who enjoy the look of a well-loved leather patina, you may leave the leather as-is and enjoy a natural material that only improves with time! 🌟If you prefer to remove the patina, please look into a store bought leather balm, soap, or patina remover that is compatible with Vegetable Tanned Leather.

Hardware

Over time, solid brass hardware naturally oxidizes as it comes into contact with air, moisture, and skin. This can look like a more matte finish on your hardware and sometimes appear as grey/green streaks on your straps. This is completely normal and does not affect the structural integrity of the hardware.

Many users prefer the look of the lived-in brass patina however, if you want to restore your hardware's shine, you may use a balm made of water and lemon juice or a store bought brass polishing kit.

Please ensure you thoroughly dry your hardware after washing.

Please Note: Matte Black Hardware is made of zinc with a powder coated finish. This finish may scratch with wear over time. Zinc hardware is not waterproof and can rust over time if exposed to water and moisture.

Fabric

For surface stains, spot clean with a gentle soap or fabric pen.

Avoid getting the leather wet and lay flat to dry.
