Leather is a natural material that develops a patina over time as it comes into contact with moisture and oil.

For those who enjoy the look of a well-loved leather patina, you may leave the leather as-is and enjoy a natural material that only improves with time!

For those who prefer to remove the patina, you may apply a leather balm, soap, or patina remover that is compatible with Vegetable Tanned Leather.

Please avoid getting the leather wet as it can create "water stains" — note: these water stains do not affect the structural integrity of the collar, but may create an splotchy appearance.

To restore your brass hardware's natural shine, apply a balm of water and lemon juice or use a brass polishing kit.

After polishing your hardware, use a soft cloth or sponge to wipe the surface and remove any polishing residue. Pat dry with a soft towel and allow the hardware to air dry completely before next use.

Please Note: Over time, solid brass hardware may naturally oxidize as it comes into contact with air, moisture, and skin. This is completely normal and does not affect the structural integrity of the hardware.
